Dr.Pengcheng Ma,a national-level talentand specially-appointed expert,aFellowof the Royal Society of Chemistry,a Hum-boldt Scholar from Germany,and ayoung scientistin thefield of polymer materials,serves as the Chief Scientist of CASREAL-NM.

Dr. Ma has been deply engaged in the research of design, preparation and application of polymer matrix composites for many years, holding dozens of authorized patents, publishing more than 100 academic papers, which have been downloaded and read by peers for more than 160,0oo times, and cited by others for nearly 10,oo0 times, of which 10 papers have been rated as the research topical articles of journals published. In 2024, he was selected as one of the top 2% scientists in the world published by Stanford University (both in the Lifetime Scientific Impact and Annual Scientific Impact lists). Dr. Ma proposed the concept of CAS Aggregation-Induced Separation (CASAlS),which opens up new applications of polymer nano-composites in the field of liquid-liquid and gas-solid separation.

As a project of industrialization of scientific research achievements of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, CAS-REALNM is committed to industrializing and promoting the application of the concept of CASAlS proposed by Dr. Ma and the laboratory results. Through continuous innovation and process optimization, CAS-REALNM has developed a set of oil-water separation solutions based on self-researched materials and with CASAlS as the core, so that the scientific and technological achievements can benefit more enterprises!
